WHAT HAIR TYPE DOES BRAZILIAN BLOWOUT WORK ON?
Everyone's hair can benefit from the Brazilian Blowout smoothing treatment. Clients who have frizzy, damaged or dull, processed hair see the most dramatic results as it stops breakage and thus hair is stronger and grows longer and fuller. I have performed the treatment on every hair type (fine, course, frizzy, curly) as well as hair that has been permed, permanently straightened and on hair extensions- all with great results.
IS MY BRAZILIAN BLOWOUT GUARANTEED TO LAST UP TO 12 WEEKS?
If you are using recommended aftercare products, 100% Yes! Certain products contain ingredients that can strip the Brazilian Blowout protein out of the hair but our products will keep you hair smooth and frizz-free. Most clients get 4-6 months or more out of their first treatment!
WHAT IF IT DOESN'T WORK ON MY HAIR?
I've performed over 5,000 Brazilian Blowouts since 2009 and have NEVER had a treatment "not work". If you have had a treatment done previous at a salon and it appears to not have worked and results weren't good or didn't last longer than a few weeks, then most likely the problem is how the treatment was performed. There's no worse feeling than spending a lot of time and money on something only to have it not turn out well. Please make sure you do your research and go to an experienced, certified stylist! We're happy to help and answer questions.
IF I COLOR MY HAIR, WHEN CAN I HAVE A BRAZILIAN BLOWOUT TREATMENT?
We recommended doing color and Brazilian Blowout here on the same day. Color can be done anytime before a Brazilian Blowout treatment. If the Brazilian Blowout has already been done, please wait 2 weeks before coloring. This is because the protein treatment can create a barrier, thus not allowing the hair color to penetrate properly, especially when trying to cover grey hair.
WHAT WILL MY HAIR LOOK LIKE AFTER RECEIVING THIS TREATMENT?
Hair will be frizz-free, shiny, effortlessly manageable. If your hair is naturally curly, you should still be able to wear hair curly/wavy (depending on the hair type) by scrunching it and letting it air dry. The beauty of having the Brazilian Blowout treatment is you can blow dry hair smooth in half the time!
WILL BRAZILIAN BLOWOUT MAKE MY CURLY HAIR PIN-STRAIGHT?
We can customize the treatment to get the results you want. We can get hair very straight with this treatment. Everyone's hair and curl/wave pattern is unique; if your hair is wavy and frizzy, the Brazilian Blowout will reduce frizz and the hair will be straighter, when blow-dried. If your hair is very curly and frizzy, it will reduce frizz and you may have a looser curl, similar to a "body wave" if air-dried.
CAN I KEEP WAVE AND VOLUME IN MY HAIR WITH THIS TREATMENT?
Yes! We can customize the treatment for you to keep as much curl as possible, while still smoothing the cuticle to combat the frizz.
HOW LONG WILL THE BRAZILIAN BLOWOUT LAST?
On most hair types, the Brazilian Blowout will last a minimum of 3 months when washing daily with the After-Care Maintenance product line. However, washing every 2-3 days will significantly extend your results to last 4-6 months or more. The Brazilian Blowout is a cumulative treatment. The more you receive it, the healthier the hair will be and the longer the result will last.
CAN YOU APPLY THE TREATMENT TO HAIR THAT HAS BEEN CHEMICALLY STRAIGHTENED OR PERMED?
The Brazilian Blowout works great on chemically treated hair! It helps to improve the hairs condition by fortifying each strand with essential proteins. It even works great directly on top of a relaxer.
WILL MY HAIR LOSE VOLUME AFTER RECEIVING THIS TREATMENT?
We can control the volume in your hair but please let us know prior to starting the treatment. Your hair can maintain some volume and body and still receive great bend and memory when blow-drying and/or using a curling iron. Your hair should be smooth when finished, but not flat.
HOW SOON CAN I WASH, WET OR STYLE MY HAIR?
We rinse it out here so you can wash and style it anytime! There is no waiting period or rules.
IS A BRAZILIAN BLOWOUT GOOD FOR EXTENSIONS?
Yes! Brazilian Blowout works great on hair extensions and helps keep them smooth and easy to style.
IS THE BRAZILIAN BLOWOUT SAFE?
In of October 2011 OSHA released a report stating they have tested Brazilian Blowout and found the treatment to be 100% salon safe. Brazilian Blowout contains: 85% Water, 5% Methylene Glycol, and 10% other ingredients, which include hydrolyzed keratin in the form of amino acids and fragrance. As the FIRST Brazilian Blowout stylist in the New England, we've been using this product longer than anyone else in Maine, without a problem. We have a ventilated space so you can rest assured that it is performed safely and responsibly for our clients.
